Problem is it will be much harder to sell. And you didn't even abuse it, but it looks as if you did.

Just where is tha QUALITY ASSURANCE at Uniden? Don't they test anything before selling it?

My HP-1 has a little of the same issue, but I did probably do it myself when I took it traveling. That's life on the road for ya.

My recollection is that right after the HP2 units were released, there were several reports of excessive paint peeling not attributable to any type of mishandling or environmental conditions. In fact, I recall seeing several posts with photos that illustrated the problem, but things seem to have quieted down of late regarding that issue.

And I certainly agree that a unit in perfect operating condition but with the peeling paint issue would likely command a lower resale value.

Yeah, but you would think with a product as expensive as this (at least for me is), the last thing you need to worry about is the paint peeling off of it.

Price has nothing to do with it. You should see my car, and Ford won't do anything about it.
