Got HP Laptop with 11th gen intel core, 64 bit operating system, windows 11 home. Have tried Scannercast and Radio Feed. Got Uniden bearcat 350A. Connected 3.5mm audio cable to speaker output on scanner and headphone/mic jack on laptop. Could not find it. Connected 3.5 plug to USB and tried that, still nothing. Tried connect Uniden BCD996P2 same way and nothing. Tried connecting programming cable to USB and still same thing. I keep getting error "Set The Input Sound Device To A Valid Input" Any ideas???

Did you set the Input Sound Device like in this image? If you did and still got the message then check the Windows Microphone Privacy settings to ensure ProScan is allowed access. Needed if using the Line Input too.
If it still doesn't work then click on the Mixer button and see if the input shows plugged In and enabled.

I got the laptop to recognize the connection. Now all I get for audio is humming. When the scanner is picking up traffic, it does not broadcast it thru laptop.

On the humming issue, Most likely a ground loop is causing that. This should fix that.
Amazon Ground Loop Isolator

I don't know what you mean. Can you elaborate?
Are you using the Source Client or Web Server feature?
It is more of just a static noise rather than humming. It is the sound you would hear when there is no traffic but still monitoring. Using Source Client I believe.

I am using Source Client and when I connect the scanner, when broadcasting, I can only hear the constant static. I do not hear any traffic when there is some.

Are you using the 350A or BCD996P2?
Do you have an audio cable hooked up from the scanner to the computer sound input?
If using the BCD996P2, is the audio cable plugged in to the record or external speaker jack?

I have tried both. I am wanting to use the 350A though. Yes, I have the audio cable hooked up from the scanner to the laptop and it does recognize it being connected. It is just broadcasting constant static, not audio when there is audio.

Can someone tell me if this would be a good laptop to dedicate for streaming. Maybe I should just try a new laptop.

I get your pain on this one. I have to bring it to attention that HP laptops just like many other manufacturers do not implement line input's in laptops. What you have is a 4 ring connector for headsets with a microphone. Also used for just computer speakers.

External USB sound adaptors do come with line inputs as @ProScan stated.

I think you will have the same problem.
I would get this instead USB External Stereo Sound Adapter
I have purchased the USB External Stereo Sound Adapter as recommended. Now I have it connected to laptop and it recognizes it. I am using the bearcat bc350a scanner. I have it connected thru the ext speaker output. I am using radio feed. On radio feed, going thru source client, after I do the “broadcastify auto configure”, under “Input Sound Device” I have the USB Audio Device enabled. Mode is MONO. It will allow me to broadcast and I can find my feed in the mobile broadcastify app. When I stream thru the mobile app, no audio comes thru when there is traffic on scanner.

In the Source Client tab, do you see the audio meters move with the scanner audio like in this image? If not then trace the problem back to the source.
