HP1, Extreme Upgrade, Second(New) Owner, & My Uniden site...

Hey, this was the best place to post this, I guess. I got an HP1, a month or so ago, & it had the extreme upgrade already on board from the previous owner. I registered the unit on the My Uniden site & the info, I was asked to provide, didn't indicate to the site, that the extreme upgrade was on board. Its asking me to ' activate upgrade ' or similar. I'm guessing its referring to the extreme upgrade. My concern is, since it doesn't know I have the extreme upgrade it won't tell me there is an update, newer firmware, etc...

Anyone had to go through this? Appreciate any suggestions or insight...

You shouldn't have to register the scanner to receive a firmware update.

It still tries to "sell" me an extreme upgrade....

Firmware updates are via Sentinel, it does NOT require registration.

Different process and method than earlier models that required registration.

Yes for both....Extreme upgrade is now priced at 50 bucks vs the 100 I paid

I am in the same boat. The previous owner bought the extreme ug. I registered at uniden and I was hoping the serial number would trigger something but it did not. I am afraid the new firmware will wipe the extreme off. I am awaiting a reply from uniden re this.

Once the EE key is entered, new firmware updates won't remove it.

Hint: DON'T look at the ads in the paper this week. Lots of stuff will be lower than what you may have paid. :wink:
