Have an HP1 with the extreme option. Have a problem while mobile with the gps option. Sometimes I want to stop the scan to monitor a specific conventional statewide frequency but the radio shifts to the next conventional frequency on the list in a few minutes. Why?

The radio will change to another system not just a channel. Example, radio was in the gps mode but I stopped it to operate on only the New Mexico State Police. There were plenty of NMSP channels that were receivable yet the radio would change to another system anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes later. Have traveled east will try again tomorrow with the HP 1 and a HP 2.

It seems like it would be the correct function. If you have that system under location control the GPS would make a lock out on the system if it suddenly where out of range. Try and increase the range in the menu/set your location/set range.

Have it figured out. If locked on system abc or Dept xyz when I travel beyond my preset range the radio as it is suppose to will reset itself to the new talk groups or conventional channels. Although system abc or channel xyz are included in the refreshed program the radio will not maintain a lock on either the system or channel although they are included in the newly refreshed data base.

Holds are reset when Location Control toggles a held object off, so the scanner can find something else to scan. Holds will not be reinstated if the previously held object is toggled back on by Location Control.

You can put frequencies or systems in a favorite list with Location Control disabled to prevent that, but then they will be scanned while held, regardless of whether they are in reception range or not.
