Got my HP1 mounted up last weekend after it sitting on my seat for a month as I used it. I made a mount to attach to the Uniden bracket. It has an external antenna, line out to my car stereo and power. When I program it I just pull it out since it removes in about 10 seconds.

Let me know what you guys things.

Here is the mount I made. Cut a sheet of plastic into a strip, heated and bent.

Yes it sounds good. It is using the linout on the HP1 to the line in on the stereo. No engine noise and the audio sounds better than on the HP1 by itself.

Two questions:
1. Are you using GPS, and if so how did you get the cable to fit while sticking out the side of the HP1?
2. What connectors/cables did you use for the line out? (mono/stereo/etc)

Thanks

The antenna is just a generic cut it yourself black NMO, uncut.

I have used the GPS in the past playing with it, but not currently. I drive a lot for work but it is to the same areas, so I just switch favorites and listen to only the groups I want.

I will try and take a picture of my audio cable. It is a 1ft stereo 3.5mm on both sides. Then using a 2.5 to 3.5 stereo adaptor with a 45 degree or so on the 2.5 side, it is about 3 inches long. I may still do a custom cable about 10 inches total with a 90 degree 2.5 and a straight 3.5.
