I spent about 5 minutes searching for an answer, but came up empty, figured it would be faster just to ask.
I have a client who just bought an HP!. How hard, or possible is it to say, manually program the scanner to just scan a couple of specific talkgroups in a sort of scan list, or must you go through tons of menus?

That's very easily done in a Favorites list in Sentinel. You can't do it directly on the scanner itself, unless you have the Extreme Upgrade, but you can create a new system, with talkgroups, in Sentinel, and send that to the HP-1, either alone, or with systems from the main database. Those can be either appended to your "manual system's" Favorites list, or in a separate Favorites list.
If the system your client wants to monitor already is in the database (it exists in the RadioReference database), then it is just as easy to create a new favorites list in Sentinel, append the existing system from the database to your newly minted list, then trim out all the talkgroups (or lockout their "departments", which serve the same function as groups in the other DMA scanners), and load that to the scanner. Again this is something you can do in Sentinel, but not directly on the HP-1 itself unless it has the Extreme Upgrade installed.
