.hpd and .hpe Extensions ? (BCD 436)

Trying to decide if I like Sentinel or the Butel software for editing my files.
Which do you folks use ?

I see that I have .hpd and .hpe files.

What are the differences ?

What does the BCD 436 use ? Either ?

Easy to convert from one to the other ? How ?

I use Sentinel for all programming, firmware updates (Butel does not do updates) and remote control record and logging I use PROSCAN.

hpe files are compressed and are for importing and exporting Favorites to and from Sentinel.

BCD436HP uses hpd files.

Exporting to hpe file converts hpd to hpe. Importing from hpe converts hpe to hpd

The "native" file is the .hpd, which is the file that gets written to the Scanner by either Sentinel or Butel. This file type can be "manipulated" by either Sentinel or Butel.

As noted above, .hpe files are for importing and exporting. Only Sentinel can deal with this file type, Butel cannot.

I use sentinel. Butel support is not existence. If they bother to answer you and if they do they then claim the issue is elsewhere. Then later they release a patch that fix the issue that never was in there software. bunch of liars and thieves.
