Just wondering, other than the paging frequencies, are there any standard (as in non TMR) frequencies here Halifax County, Nova Scotia (NS) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference which are regularly used? I see vehicle repeaters and ops channel repeaters but I haven't heard activity on any I've programmed. I thought is ask here since its a pain to manually program em into my old scanner.
What I'd like to do is monitor the paging frequencies as I do now on my old scanner AND get fire ops too if I can. That way I can use my PSR-500 for just TMR and airplanes without adding fire ops too. Gets busy when too much is enabled so if I can pass off some more than just fire paging to my old scanner it'd be great. Thoughts?

I often hear the vehicle repeaters here in the city, of course they're low power so you pretty much have to be right on scene to hear them. I have heard the simplex channels before as well, but not lately, and I don't think I've ever heard the backup repeaters for anything other than zone pager tests..

Thank you Chris, guess its not worth putting em in then. Guess the only thing better than a trunking scanner is two :)

Yeah nu old scanner isn't a trunking one. I was hoping I could maybe hear fire (besides the pages) on my old scanner but I guess not.

The scanner I keep in my car is non-trunking (RS Pro-137) and a few times I've used the VR frequencies to monitor a situation, but pretty much have to be within a couple of blocks
