I am comparing a few after market antennas for a FT-60R I may be purchasing soon. I am looking between the
Diamond S/RH77CA 16"
Diamond S/RH519 8.5"
and the stock antenna.
Most of my use will probably be monitoring VHF conventional, with some UHF, very little if any 800.
I am having a hard time imagining leaving a 16" antenna connected all of the time. Both offer some wide band receive, more so on the 77.
Then after that hurdle, which have most of you found to be the best?, going with a straight SMA antenna or using a BNC adapter to protect the SMA on the radio. I would imagine swapping could become a fairly common occurrence.
Thanks!
