To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

You should be able to scroll through them in the menu.

Select Menu - Audio/Tones - Call Tone Tag - Selective Call....
When you scroll through the different tones, it should play them for you.

If not, Enable tones by going to: Menu - Audio/Tones - Tone Disable... Make sure tones are enabled.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh well the easiest way would be to contact the communicatons director for the county or who ever programs the counties radios. They should be able to get them for you. The other way, which is time consumming and process of elimination, is to download ComTekk 2-Tone Decoder II and have that running on your computer while a scanner or radio is hooked up to it and when a tone goes out it will log it> at the end of the day if your station went on a call the tones will be logged and you can match it to the time of the call. In some areas, such as where i am, that would be hard to do beacuse we always dispatch multiple stations to calls so there is alot more involved in figuring out which one goes to what. But like i said the best way is to contact who ever it is that programs your radios.
