• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have several ht1250’s i am looking to program the exact same. Is there a way to copy and paste essentially from one radio to another without taking the firmware, serial number, turning data or anything else?
I’m hoping there’s a way to do it without manually entering everything manually as I have 64 channels, 9 zones, 7 scan lists, and a whole library of MDC ID’s. Is there a way to do this without what I mentioned above and without doing radio to radio cloning as I have the usb cable.
I am using cps R06.12.05 because we still use wideband.

just read the one you want to copy from then write it to the rest. it is will not overwrite the radio specific stuff like serial or tuning data. only gotcha i remember was they must all be the exact same model number.

Like David said, if they are the exact same model number, you should be able to write a single codeplug to multiple units.

There is no "copy & paste" between the codeplugs for the Waris series of radios. It's a well known weakness. If you search back here on RR, you'll find a number of threads on this, all with the exact same answer.

I have the file preprogrammed for a SDH model but I have 4 more radios that need programmed, they are a RDF model though. I had a different pair that I programmed the same a while back they were both RDH models. Unfortunately when I wrote it to the other radio it took the serial number and firmware number without actually updating the firmware. I had to use the depo tool to revert those fields back to what they should have been. I didn’t look at the tuning piers though although I probably should have.
