• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am having a brain cramp. That, and I really don't program many HT1250's.

My questions are,

1- Is there a way to enable the Priority "beep" when traffic is heard on priority channel during scan?

2- Radio does not seem to be muting, or at least partially muting, the MDC-1200 data burst. I don't see a setting for this.

3- Can you set the Priority #1 to "follow the channel selector"?

Thanks for any and all help!

1. On the General tab of the Scan List, check the Priority box. Then on the Radio Configuration section --> Scan tab: Priority Alerts check the Priority Scan box.

2. Signalling ---> MDC System ---> MDC System - 1 ---> DOS tab adjust the Auto Mute time. Before you do this, make a note of the original setting so that you can change it back if you encounter other problems. Mine is currently set at 500 ms.

3: In the scan list, use the drop downs and place <selected> in position #1. That should be standard practice for most any scan list in a two way.

Steve beat me to it, but I just checked CPS.
In addition to Steve's step, I think you also need to check the box that says "Priority 1 (First Scan List Member)"

1 in your cps in the radio configuration under scan, select scan alerts priority scan, check this box. I don't recall but I thought that is what that did.

2 you may need to adjust the mdc settings. Ensure "and or" is selected for the muting type on all systems required. Try 1200 and 1800hz, if that doesn't help try 1200 or 1800hz. Adjust your dos auto mute duration to 500 and dos coast to 50 those are default settings. If not try 250 and 50. Default petite under advanced is 500 ms and pre time is 0. Depending on how the system is you may need to adjust as needed. Also ensure display I'd decode is enabled if you desire the I'd shown on display.
Also try pl scan for priority and non priority, or priority under advanced in the scan list tab under signalling.

3 your asking if channel one can be priority over everything? So if one moves the selector will channel 1 be priority always if traffic is present? Yes, in each scan list for each zone/scan list per say select priority 1 in the general tab and under the list tab in scan make the slot 1 the desired priority. If you wish to have it where the channel selector is what determines priority in slot 1 make sure selected is used then number your channels in order. Be sure if transmitting under the tx configuration tab you set the desired tx channel. It can be selected ie the channel the knob is on or a pre selected conventional personality.

It's been short while but I believe that's what your after. I'm away from any machine but if I recall those are whst your looking for. Hope that helps.

Got it. Thanks, Steve.
