A Highway Transport Patrol member was struck by a semi this afternoon at the intersection of Lewvan Dr. and Hwy 1.

The HTP unit was flung into the ditch and the member became entrapped. Regina Fire, EMS, Police, RCMP, HTP and First Responders responded.

The member was transported Code 4 to the Pasqua and is in critical condition.

Got some news from one of the HTP guys in Regina today.

The officer broke his leg in 13 places and underwent surgery for 5-8 hours this afternoon.

He's quite bruised and battered around his head and torso.
