Hudson Co Urban Search and Rescue Squad

This morning under Hudson County in the data base there is a listing for the Hudson County Urban Search and Rescue Squad. Does anyone have any further information who they are asoicated with and where they are headquartered out of.

I frequently drive on a side street off of Somerset Street in North Plainfield and there are always 2 or 3 odd looking emergency vehicles parked there. I believe the agency name on the vehicles is the one that you posted or at least very similar to it.

Why would a Hudson County SAR vehicle be kept in Somerset County?

That is a question I've asked myself many times.

The vehicles in North Plainfield are Hudson County Alert. That is where their Chief lives. Hudson County Urban Search & Rescue is headquartered out of Jersey City. It is a new Volunteer squad. And their Chief lives in Jersey City. Volunteers welcomed.

What town/county is sponsoring them? How are they dispatched?

The website is not completely up, and doesn't help with those questions.

Hudson County Urban Search & Rescue is a independent non-for profit squad. it is self dispatched for now. In talks with Hudson County Sheriff office for dispatch, as well as JCPD as secondary. On there freq by plectron. They have mutual aid agreements with Roosevelt Island Search & Rescue(Queens NY), Hudson County Alert, and Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. New Website
