Good evening everyone, has anybody noticed for the past few days the Hudson county sheriff has been on utac 5? I wonder if they’re preparing to migrate to the new county 700mhz system.

Yes, I've noticed it too. They seem to have been on it for over a week already.

Are they repeating on that channel? If they are going 700 and are currently uhf 450mhz area why use utac when they could patch existing or use old until new is rolled out?

Yes, they are using the utac frequency in repeater mode and in analog.
