Hudson Valley UHF to low-band Fire Control links...

Half of the 44 control links are way to inaudible even if you're standing next to the repeater. They really need to adjust the volume on some of those.

Does anyone know if the West Harrison FD link (472.250) is still on the air?

West Harrison seems to be down. Unsure of any details.

Put valley is still up and running with the previously posted DPL repeating 46.38 (dispatch).

Lake Carmel was active on 453.6625 DPL 125 repeating 46.38 only it seemed. I haven't been listening to know if they still are.

Peekskill is still down as is Katonah. Katonah does have a link to trunked Fire 16 on 46.22 though.

NSVAC link to 151.535 is active and has good coverage. Medics and responding ambulances can be heard on EMS 13 on the trunked system. Tones and call-ins for the ambulance are on the repeater/151 channel.

Lewisboro had a UHF channel licensed a few years ago but hasn't seemed to do anything with it yet. Nothing more on this right now.

It's amazing the amount of money these departments spent on these UHF repeaters, and probably won't be using them very much anymore.

Why not, the low band dispatching isn't going anywhere any time soon. They don't have to narrow band, so it's the perfect frequency for page outs. Even if 60 control stops answering on 46.26 as does Dutchess County on their low band they can just hook it up to their zone trunked control station for an inexpensive cross band to the county's trunked system radio, instead of buying $3,000.00 radios on it. This has already been discussed at length at chiefs meetings with the county.

I guess your right, I forgot that some departments are already simulcasting the trunked system on low band.

60 Control Crossband Frequencies needed

I used to be able to hear WHFD (472.2500) fairly well from my residence in Bronx NY (I live in proximity to orchard beach), but as of late I upgraded my motorola saber from a Saber I to a Saber III. I tried putting in the WHFD link and it either comes in very scratchy (1x1) or not at all.

Are there any other 60CTRL links that will work in BX. I'm also looking for 44CTRL links that work in BX

It seems they have turned the link radio off, and are using it as an ops repeater locally.

Can anyone Confirm this?

I listen now to the Briarcliff FD link (460.1125 243 dpl) on Kings College water tank. It's the only repeater I can here down here, even with the scanner antenna on the roof.

try 164.0625 pl 69.3 It's the Montrose VA Fire crossband. It also works well.

164.0625? kinda unusual for a VHF radio to do a 6.25khz or 12.5 khz step..

I tried 164.0625 and I got nothing but static...

my UHF "city radio" Saber III (458-490mhz) has no better luck on 460.1125 or 472.2500.

It's a newly coordinated frequency, so it's going to be narrowband. So set your scanner or radio to receive accordingly.

Have a couple questions regarding the status of some of the uhf links in westchester and putnam. Anyone know if yorktown 46.26 link is still up got nothing on 453.5625 dpl606?
does the west harrison 46.26 link still work on 472.250 dpl243?
anyone know any information on lake carmels 46.38 link on 453.6625 dpl125 i know lake carmel doesn't operate on uhf there on vhf

Yorktown Heights FD 453.5625 PL606 French Hill Repeater is still operating.
West Harrison FD has been off for a couple of years.
