To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

If you are referring to a 3rd party console for radios, etc., you may be out of luck. Most console manufacturers made consoles for popular public safety vehicles only and Hummers weren't one of them. You may have to find a close match and work around the shifter.

You might also consider either getting a metal or wood 'Fab Shop" to build for purpose console and then you would have options on the 'finish' that truly be a 'custom' fit. Yellow pages or on-line areas and also some RV shops have contacts to various fab-shops too...
1- Stainless Steel (might be a bit hot in summer and bright, unless a satin finish..)
2- Nice Cherry Wood or Walnut
3- Stainless with a "powder coat' color that suits....in a 'flat finish' to reduce reflection of sunlight....
4- Leather or Fabric cover.....to match interior, etc...
The 'custom' job would also give you 'options' that the stock-boxes mostly do-not have, such as extra storage and methods to 'cover-conceal' the radios when you are away from the vechical....
With the so-called 'stock' consoles running at the high-end up wards of $600, I would think you could get a great deal via local fabrication shop / upholstery shop(s)....it look look a lot better than the 'black-metal-boxes' that are over-priced in my opinion....

Thanks for all the help guys. I went to look at hummers the other day and decided i didn't want one. They are just too big and there is nowhere to put radios. I might be going with a Tahoe.

You may want to look at a 4Runner. Some of the recent models have a slide out tray in the rear that's perfect for hiding radios underneath.

alliance i had the same situation with my 1989 S10 blazer. While there are plenty of console on the market for blazers, there are not any for mine so i made one myself. It is nothing fancy, made it from cherry veneer mdf and birch plywood that i had around the house. there are pictures of it in the "pictures of my mobile setup"fourm under the thread "1989 S10 console

Tahoe and Silverado (same interor body style / bolts ect.) HIGHLY recommend something without that goofy full console. Go with the open hump, will make your choices from a wider selection without having to move more than that "20" of a 40/20/40 seat config.

I made one for my '90 suburban out of 1/4" dark smoke plexiglass. Used sheets of corrugated to rough out the sides and then had the Plexi cut to match. Used 1 stock U bracket to attach the stack to the front of the stock center console, everything else just bolted thru holes drilled in the plexi using the stock screws that came with each radio.
