We have been getting a persistent noise when using the scanners here in Mcewen.
There is an aggravating pop/skip about every 2 seconds.
It almost sounds like someone is keying a mic.
It has been doing it since they upgraded the system earlier this year.

We are currently using an older Uniden BCT8 scanner.
We even bought a digital scanner that does the same thing.
Several other people here in town have the same exact problem.

Is there anyone in Humphreys County who know a remedy to our troubles?
Do you know of any model scanner that does not pick up this noise?

Please help us out..
We want to get a clean signal and become a feed provider.
Thanks,
Travis

Data bursts?

No we are not listening to the Homeland Frequencies.
We are just listening the 460.1000, 460.4000, 460.6000, etc.....

I was doing a little research and someone mentioned data bursts????

LTR passport data bursts

Yes I believe you are on the right track.
LTR passport data bursts.

It looks like there may be a couple of radios I can purchase that may effectively ignore the bursts.

Does anyone in TN know what type of radio would work best here?
If so, do you know how to correctly set up a radio to receive these signals?

Everyone i know is having the same troubles.
Thanks
