Does anyone know if hunterdon county has any type of countywide alert system to advise all agencies of a situation, other then spen. for example a pursuit or bank robbery.

Typical alerts are simultaneously broadcast on all active police frequencies. All units can switch to TAC 1 but do not usually monitor it.

I believe Hunterdon's new consoles allow them to simulcast on as many of their channels as needed. When Tewksbury had the structure fire last month, and the chief called the evac order, I heard the dispatcher relay the announcement with the alert tone on FD Main, Fireground 1, & AMBO-5 (and it sounded quite strange, being I had radios going on all three of those channels).

My wife was like "what the hell was that echo?" :D

I was right! Now I won't be right again until 2009. :)

You get another chance to be right in 2008 -- you weren't right on this one. An alert can, and will, go out on TAC-1 when they simulcast on all frequencies, but the alert is not directed there.

Will you settle for a "C+"? You weren't really wrong either!
