Is the Huntsville Trunk system that came pre-programmed on the PSR500 up to date or do i need to start fresh? thanks

Check the RR file for the Huntsville system and compare the frequencies and TGID's with what you have in your scanner. If you use a software package to program the radio, see if you can run a "hard copy" of the system as it's loaded into your radio then it will be much easier to check against the RR file.
