How about narrowing your brush a bit and amending that to some EMA directors? Most EMA directors I've met (and there are many) don't try to pull that kind of dictator stuff, even if they're in charge of the money. They have a sit-down with the stakeholders and discuss options, and the solution is a team effort.

Wish it were like that in the northern part of the state.

The Huron County EMA Director did NOT make the decision on Encryption. I hear he's a very competent director and I believe he's an Asst. Fire Chief too.

Would it be difficult to separate Huron County and Erie County? I'm only interested in Huron county and I'm sure some listeners in Erie county don't care much for what's going on in Huron County.

Somebody has submitted that Huron Co Fire Departments have switched to MARCS.
"There are 7 TGID numbers listed below which are what they transmit on now. They dispatch on 25585 and the responses etc are on that channel or one of the others listed. 25637, 25585, 25594, 25593, 25592, 25516, 25783."

So I have added 25585 as Huron Co Fire Dispatch

Would appreciate if people would listen and see what 25516, 25592, 25593, 25594, 25637 and 25783 are. Are they "TAC 1, TAC 2, etc" or are they individual department non-dispatch talkgroups?

Thanks

Mike

OK great. Thank you. Yeah I didn’t know if they were like some counties, who dispatch on one talk group and then have six or seven tactical talk groups that they then send the traffic to in this case it looks like they have individual talk groups for fire department.s

Forgot to mention these are from

Huron County P25 TRS

not marcs
Thank you. The submission was to Huron County, but the guy said Marcs

I didn’t catch that, but obviously based upon what you’ve shown he does mean the Huron county P 25 system

I’ll get those added to Hiron co this evening

I was wrong. The submitter just said the departments switched to P25 (in a Huron Co P25 submission). Never said anything about MARCS. My fubar there.

I'm going to add the departments you listed now.

THanks

If they are dispatched on 25585 and then switched to their own, do you hear the en-route traffic on their individual talkgroups? If so, I will set the service tags on them all to Fire Dispatch. Dispatch / en route communications are supposed to be tagged Fire Dispatch I believe.

Or do you feel those are more on-scene channels for those departments?

Fire Dispatch only goes on talkgroups that are used for dispatching. If they're enroute/incident channels only they're tagged Fire Tac.
