It looks like Hutchinson PD and Reno County Sheriff are going encrypted. It started with only a couple of units but today most of the units on Hutchinson PD are encrypted. I have heard a SO unit encrypted as well. Dispatch is still in the clear. I was hoping the guy at Radio Shack was wrong, but I guess not.
Apparently, there has been a change in policy. When the switch to digital first occurred, they made it clear they wanted the public to be able to hear. That has clearly changed.
