Just listening to the ongoing rescue attempts on the 402. OPP and MTO are trying to get to anyone still stranded on the highway, using snowmobiles and now helicopters. A military chopper is now on scene and the OPP chopper has been requested. Sounds like they are going to airlift people from the highway to the Wyoming fairgrounds where they will be put on busses. Sounds like they are also taking people to Sarnia airport and dropping them off there.

OPP are on 1TAC02 and I had the chopper earlier on 232.1000. MTO in the Strathroy area are using LAMC5. I would expect the OPP chopper to maybe be on SIM11.

Sounds like a 2nd military chopper is now in the area, and basing itself at London airport. It's being used to a Medivac to assist EMS with patients that can't get out. Just heard OPP asking they attend to an elderly female that is in respiratory distress in the area there somewhere.

It is reallllly coming down here in Strathroy right now. This is going to be a mess for a while by the looks of it.

No prob! I'm trying to figure out why that annoying hum keeps popping up once in a while. I wiggle the connector and it goes away haha

Are the OPP still using 1TAC02? Is that the feed you are using? I was listening to them this morning but lost the signal. Are there other channels being used?
Thanks

Yep they are still using 1TAC02 for the 402 operations. I'm sure the OPS channels are busy too, but I'm only listening to TAC02 at this point.. and yes, that's what I am streaming.

listening to forts feed , the audio is good ,with good levels , I did hear the buzz , but its pretty minor
I can also say that it gives me great confidence & trust in the OPP to be able to hear how they are responding , their interaction with the public, other agencies , how they go about the job & the way they speak on the radio, it is a very valuable insight that can gain them trust & cooperation

They are doing an incredible job, that's for sure. I just heard a Sargent ask an officer how long he was staying on tonight... He said he was day shift yesterday, put in 27 hours, had 5 hours for a nap this afternoon and was good to go for a night shift tonight. Excellent job being done by all out there... same goes for the plow drivers, many of them have had very little rest over the past few days. One benefit of the highyway being closed is that I only heard one MVA all day. Usually when the squalls are kicking up it's one MVA after another.
