I’m having trouble with my scanner.

Hi. I have a uniden bearcat BC350A, I am relatively new to using scanners. My Dad was a MP for the ARMY. It was given to me as a gift. My scanner works it picks up weather Chanel’s but I hear some chat only so often as if it sounds to be other people talking. I’ve been trying to pick up signals from police, fire/EMS, but nothing comes up. Could someone help me understand what I need to do?

Your scanner is a very basic scanner. Analog only.

Take a look at the manual and try entering some nearby frequencies.

What area do you live in? That will help us guide you. As noted above, a lot of things are digital these days, and this is an analog scanner model.
