(CBS4) THORNTON, Colo. Interstate 25 northbound was closed in Thornton Sunday morning for a short time due to several accidents. There were several crashes in the same area that police said were caused by splashback or hydroplaning.
There was some standing water at 120th and I-25 from flooding at a nearby construction area, and it wasn't known if that played a factor in the crash.
Adams County and Thornton officials were working on the flooding situation and directing traffic off on 104th for nearly an hour.
Rain fell throughout the day on Saturday in the Denver area and was not expected to let up until Monday morning, according to the CBS4 Colorado Weather Center.
