I-64 Westbound at 247 closed

A major accident involving several trucks, a passenger vehicle and a 15 passenger van carrying part of the Hampton University Track team has shut down I-64 westbound at the 247 mile marker (near NWS Yorktown Exit). The accident has caused a massive backup and numerous other accidents. Newport News Fire, York County Fire, and James City Fire are on the scene.

thanks for posting this. I was stuck on 64 behind it on my way to work without a scanner I got off the lee hall exit and went west on 143, and ended up going under the accident on the bridge. It was quite the mess. I was wondering about the details of what happened. It happened just barely in front of me, I was probably only about .5 miles behind it when NN fire/rescue went past in the median.
