DENVER (CBS4) ― One person died in an accident near Interstates 70 and 225 on the Denver, Aurora border Friday morning.
The accident appeared to be at the bottom of the ramp from Chambers Road to westbound I-70, just before the I-225 interchange. It happened after 5 a.m.
The vehicle hit a bridge or overpass support and then caught fire.
It wasn't clear if any other vehicles were involved.
Firefighters said it appears a passerby stopped, put out the fire with dirt and/or dry chemical, and then drove off. Authorities would like to speak with that person.
The ramp from Chambers to westbound I-70 was closed because of the crash.
