I 77 from SC to VA

Hello

I have not traveled through North Carolina since the Viper system was implemented.

I am completely aware of how the low band system works.
I know the information is here in the database and I will look for it, but a quick starting point:

Are the following HP stations and the counties they cover on Viper?

H5 Charlotte
F4 Statesville
E5 Elkin
Mount Airy.

That will give me a good idea where to start.

Troop H is on the Charlotte\Mecklenburg TRS.

Troop E is on VIPER. I-77 sites that carry most of this troop's activity are Mooresville, Barium Springs. Pores Knob, and Sauratown Mtn.

Troop F is not on board yet.

Current NCSHP usage of 800 MHz is pretty much limited to handhelds. Full switch over is still a ways off.

Mobiles on VHF are not patched into the network, so you will mostly hear the dispatch side only.

RR Database info that you find for the above is accurate.

That was exactly what I needed.

So the low band frequencies are still in use ALONG with VIPER in Troop E?
Are the low band frequencies in use in troop H, or is just on the trunk?

Low band is still fully operational and the primary mode of operation for all troops.

800 is sort of supplemental right now. Raleigh has the heaviest usage of the portables.
