On my 396, I can pick up I calls but I can only hear half of the conversation. I have I-calls enabled under trunk options and have the .0 wildcard entered as well. I am listening to the MPSCS. Any ideas why I don't hear the whole thing? I've searched all over with no luck.

I have a bc250d, and the sheriffs i listen to where I go to school (MS State Univ.), their I-calls are one way. So after one guy is done talking, I have to press 'Search' on the scanner to pick up the other guy's ID and hear his traffic in time.
But most I-calls I ever hear are two-way - both sides of the conversation no matter which I-call ID I listen to.
What does MPSCS stand for, by the way?

There is an issue with P25 systems only getting half of an I-Call, it's being worked on...

I don't get anything on I-call with Motorola digital systems. All I get is noise when the I-call TG is showing on the display. Is this one of the issues being worked on? At least they know it is an issue and are working on it. It is probably something that can be fixed with a firmware upgrade.
I-calls on analog systems work just fine BTW.

Not as far as I know. Is it an encrypted signal? Can you hear the user(s) in conventional mode? What system?

On the SAFE-T system I have gotten talkgroups and I-calls that use data to share data with neighboring towers. I just lock the individual talkgroup/I-call out.

Press lockout and that ID will never show up again, yet it'll get the others.

I have had on my 396 it display just the number of the dispatcher console talking on the talkgroup and not using the ICALL becuase on my actually MTS2000 radio it is broadcasting on the talkgroup and the scanner picks it up as an ICALL
If that is a 6-digit number beginning with a 7 it is the I-Call radio ID, if it doesn't it is the talkgroup ID.

It is the 6 digit number starting with 7. which is why i think it is real weird.

On the MPSCS I have noticed that when monitoring an I-CALL occasionally the dispatcher will be on one tower and the mobile unit will be on another tower ,however I have monitored both dispatch and the mobile unit on the same tower also, being that this is a statewide system possibly that is how it is setup

If that were the case - the mobile unit wouldn't be hearing dispatch and the dispatch wouldn't be hearing the unit (since each only accesses one tower at a time.)
No Fix Needed, unfortunately...
MPSCS only transmits the I-Call voice on the tower it needs to be transmitted. I.E. if a unit in Brighton private-calls Station 10 on the Dimondale tower, sitting in Lansing I will only hear the mobile unit. If you were in Brighton you would only hear Station 10.
I've confirmed that by scanning in conventional mode when a conversation starts - the carrier signal stays but there is no audio.
Only when both units are on the same tower will you get both sides of a conversation.
