does anyone else have the problem of not getting I-Call's on this system. In non trunking mode, I can see the ID's and I-Call but nothing while scanning.

Do you mean you can see the I-call IDs while sitting on the control channel in non-trunked mode? If so, you are probably just seeing the radios trying to affiliate with the system. Even though the IDs that come up look like I-calls, they are not. I have never heard I-calls on the system, and I don't think anyone else has reported them either.

by I-call do you mean private call or call alert? If so yes this is in use on the system. but only by a very select number of officals and tac units and is usally not used on the main channels

I-CALL Help?
I was wondering if the I-CALL would work for fire station alerting (MOSCAD) or hospital notification. I know in Montgomery County the ambulances "PAGE" the hospitals Motorola consolette to give patient information while transporting.

I'm not sure if they "page" the consulter, but they definetly talk on the EMRC talkgroup to give the patient info. They might be initially contacted by a paging system to make sure a consulter is switched to EMRC.

Understood... but what I am trying to determine is the method of "paging". Is this an I-Call signal or a different type of digital signalling simular to MOSCAD alerting?

A clarification on what's done in Montgomery County regarding hospital contacts.
If the ambulance or medic unit is ONLY providing routine transport info to a hospital, e.g. "Ambulance 88 to Shady Grove, enroute with a 36 year old male with a headache," it will do so on the talk-group assigned to that hospital. (Each hospital has its own TG on Zone 9).
If the unit is obtaining a CONSULT it must contact EMRC on 9-Charlie and EMRC will assign it one of the EMRC channels to contact the hospital. That's because consults must be recorded and only the EMRC talk groups are set up to do this.

I do understand the process. What I am trying to find out is the function of paging or alerting the hospital prior to the voice consultation.
Normally in the past when I rode an ambulance (238), I would change from 7 Bravo to zone 10 which is where the hospitals are located. I then would select the hospital I wished to consult with. Finally I would send that hospital a page or alert through the mobile or portable radio which in turn would activate the consolette in the recieving emergency room.
What I am trying to determine is the format of the page I transmitted which is decoded by the consolette in the ER. Would this be something that the "I-Call" feature is capable of decoding or maybe something else such as MDC-1200 or MOSCAD?

Yesterday (Wednesday) at 23:21 I got an I-Call on Trunker on hex 0x082 or 0x086.
