Hi Guys.
I need your help :(
I can't hear any audio on voice channels frequencies 869.0000 and above.
the control channel is 868.4375, and some of the voice channels is at 869.xxxx frequencies.
the system is P25 Phase II.
All the audio I'm getting it's between 865.6250 to 868.9875mhz
is there a way to fix/bypass that problem ?
All the Best.

What system is that? Something in the U.S.? Very unusual to still see any frequencies above 862 MHz used in the U.S. post-rebanding.

867.9375868.2375c

the system you posted does not have 869 or above listed in it.
it also shows 2 control channels.

As stated, the 436 will not receive above 869 due to US law forbidding consumer receivers capable of receiving in the cellular band. The UBCD3600, which is the European version of the 436 receives 806-960 without a break (according to the manual.) You might want to look into getting one of those and offloading your 436.

The Austrailian/New Zealand version is the UBC...
The European Version starts with BCD and ends with an E

You sure? To the best of my knowledge there were no "E" versions of the Home Patrol or x36 series. There are retailers in the UK, such as Radioworld that have it listed alongside other Uniden scanners that have the "E" designation, but nothing in the 436/3600 case with an "E."

There must be a way to modify the US version :)
do you know if it's hardware or software blocked ?

Maybe the solution will be much easier than what we think, like use the EU firmware on the US version scanner ;)
Just a thought

No, US Scanners can not be re-tuned to allow prohibited frequencies. In most, if not all US scanners, the FCC requires the hardware used to limit the frequency coverage be installed in such a way as to prevent tampering. Typically, that's a fat glob of black epoxy covering that particular hardware. You can not remove the epoxy without destroying the hardware and thus destroying the circuit board.

No, you can not load EU or AU firmware on a US model. Even if you could, the hardware would still prevent tuning frequencies prohibited in the US.

There may not be any traffic on the system, how do you know it is active and you are missing traffic @ramimz ? Also, if you are in Florida as your profile says, where are you listening to this Illinois system from? Finally where is Israel Illinois, I can not find it on Google maps or figure out what county it is in?

Looking at it in Google, FCC and the database, I'm wondering if this system is placed in the database incorrectly and really is in Israel belonging to the National Police, not Illinois.

Huh? IL is the country code for Israel. The system is listed correctly. Oh and he knows he's missing traffic because Unitrunker is showing grants to frequencies his scanner is not capable of.
