I don't understand the "License" column info after clicking on it.

Could someone explain to me what I'm looking at after I click on a License#, like WPYP425 in the database?

Scroll down the page until you see the list of frequencies and you'll see 155.2650, the one I'm talking about. That frequency is listed twice for Berlin. (That same frequency is listed further down with no location attached to it).

What are the frequencies listed there and why do I see 155.2650 listed for City: Berlin, County: Washington, State: VT, but when I do a frequency search for 155.2650, it comes back listing:Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, EMS (serving Swanton & Highgate), and EMS (for Deerfield Valley Rescue Windham County)?
And that frequency isn't listed anywhere in the general database for Washington County (the first link above)

I don't understand the information that is listed when I click on a license# in the database and if someone could explain it to me, or direct me to where I can learn about this info, I sure would appreciate it.

I'm also sorry if the links need to be "copied & pasted" as I don't understand how to make em so you don't have to do that!

Scroll down the page until you see the list of frequencies and you'll see 155.2650, the one I'm talking about. That frequency is listed twice for Berlin. (That same frequency is listed further down with no location attached to it).

Anything in blue is a link. In order to understand the info for WPYP425, you need to know what most of the other columns are for. In this case, 155.265 is listed twice under the Station Class Codes, FB, or fixed base. Each one has a different Emission_Designator One is "Wide band" and the other is the new narrowband (11K2F3E). The wide band is no longer legal, so they had to update the license to show compliance with the new Narrow band mandate . The 3rd and 4th listings are for MO, or Mobile. This means that the mobiles transmit back to the fixed base on the same frequency(very typical). Mobiles do not show a specific location, because they are are allowed to operate 40.0 km radius around a fixed location. ULS License WPYP425 - CAPITAL FIRE MUTUAL AID SYSTEM - Location 2 This link is the actual FCC license, which has a bit more info, The link for WPYP425 is a reformat of the FCC data with some neat location graphics, provided by RR, but the actual FCC link is at the very bottom. The reason you don't find 155.265 in a search is because it has not be entered into the RR database, which is different from the FCC license database. In this case, no one has confirmed that 155.265 is actually in use. You can also see that it is not listed under Capital Fire Mutual Aid System on the Wash county page. That does not mean it isn't..just that no one has entered it yet. The RR database contains only those frequencies members have confirmed. It is quite common for an agency to license more frequencies than they actually use for future expansion/use.

When I do a frequency search for 155.2650, it comes back listing:Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, EMS (serving Swanton & Highgate), and EMS (for Deerfield Valley Rescue Windham County)?

Frequencies are often used by multiple agencies in the state. As long as they are over 30-50 miles(approx), they won't interfere, so they can be "reused". There are complicated factors that the licensing agency can use to determine if they can be reused without interference.

Maybe I should just be happy that my scanner is working and stop trying to figure all these things out.
There's alot to learn about scanners, frequencies, radios, and all that apply regarding their usage and understanding the inner workings of them.

And No........I'm not sorry I asked. I scrolled through the Database Discussion Forum's hoping to find a link that explained the layout of the posted frequencies and what it all meant, even what was posted deeper in the RR database. As in; what all the info meant when I did get to the area after clicking on the "License" column. Which shows this at the top (after clicking on WPYP425)-FCC Callsign WPYP425 (CAPITAL FIRE MUTUAL AID SYSTEM).

Not all licensed Frequencies have been reported [verified as in use] to the RRDB

Put in some of those frequencies, see what you can confirm/find [with tones] then submit them

Remember tho, some of those could have little use [big one, Helo LZ, on-scene simplex, or inputs to the repeaters] But we will never know unless someone listens and then submits
