I give up... What the heck is a "tap" fire?

Maybe I'm not hearing it correctly, but it sounds like "tap fire" on SFD call outs.
Anyone?

It's "tapped fire" and as @louisik said, it means the fire is basically out. From what I've read, it is a traditional expression that goes back to the days of alarm boxes. When the fire was out the chief would go back to the alarm box. He could use a telegraph key to send a signal that all companies at the box were clearing because the fire was out. He would "tap out" this signal. All the watch personnel at all the stations would make note that this fire was "tapped out".
