hey guys i just got a pair of motorola talkabout SX700R GMRS radio. It says up to 12 mile range and even like 3 miles away it doesn't work. how can i make it go farther...

and do i need to purchase the licenss? the radioshack guy told me that you dont need to purchase them becasue people never get prosucted for using them.

Well, you can't really make the range increase. The 12 mile range it says it a load of horsesh*t. In reality (because of many enviromental factors), the range is many miles less.

i tried out 2.5 miles. and still wouldnt work.

and whats difference between handheld GMRS and base GMRS..

hay if you want to brake the law that would be up to you, a personal chose and to believe a kid that works at the shack well your on your own, its not my dads shack anymore
