I recieved it with my Grundig YB500. The YB500 came out in 1993 but the copyright is 1991.

It's cool to have.

Neat. I remember having a small paper back book from Radio Shack for Shortwave stations. I don't think they changed their frequencies so readily 'back in the day', but if nothing else, it was motivating to see what was out there and then see if you could hear them.

I remember absolutely FREAKING OUT when I heard Radio Moscow on the AM BC band. WOW! It was an image on my Hallicrafters S-40B I realized later, but still such a thrill!

If I remember correctly radio shack, in the late 70's and through the 80's, used to put out a yearly book with SW freq's.

I had my sanyo-RP8880 SW radio and I remember walking to radio shack for that book, Every year to get the updated one.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS.....!!!

And spending many nights in the summer staying up all night on my sanyo scanning the bands receiving contacts and keeping them in a log... I was also into CB also.

The sanyo had the regular lights and I remember my father coming up and seeing me behind the sanyo and the only light was coming from the sanyo...

SW bands were alive, I mean SW had so many stations in the usa AND outside....

But anyways, the grundig book I found that someone sold on ebay for almost 30.00... I'm not getting rid of mine, it has tonnes of freq's and I'll go throught them to see...

I just cannot believe that this book is from 1991 and it looks new as does the YB500 I bought on ebay last monday.

The radio is great, SSB, RDS and I pick up alot of stations on SW with it, It came in the original box and everything else. I'm a happy camper.

And I only paid 61.00 for it and found out that when it was new it was 499.00 for the radio even though it is 18 years old but you would never know it.

i'm guessing that even though it says satellit on it they included this little book with all the radio's of the time.

It's funny though, in the back it has an advertisement for a "Satellit 500" and other grundig radio's, just funny seeing that since I have my Satellit 500 from 1991.

Now you buy a radio you do not get any of that anymore just a small chinese instruction manual that is so badly translated....

The grundig book has the first 1/2 of the book "Broadcast schedules by country" AND the second 1/2 "B/C Schedules by time" and alot of freq's ALOT...

Good story:) nice to read memories like that-I have mine too-steeped deep in the 60s-70s...Granny's Grundig Majestic console with the full shortwave spectrum in German starting the whole darn ball rolling, but I digress. Just want to say-I get it, and you aint the lone ranger when it comes to affinity for this stuff. I gotta get that Hallicrafters moving! Here's a pic of a Radio Shack ad in my 1962 issue of theARRL handbook-they only had 8 stores then and sold/traded serious ham gear right with the big boys! Enjoy
