It seems that just about the only good thing about NY politics is the fact that a majority of our communications are in the clear. If you look at red states, a huge majority is secure. The local politicians seem to vote regarding whether or not to fund new radio systems and it appears that most of NY is safe. Time will tell.

Twitter reveals more and is being used as a tactical weapon against police more than scanners/broadcastify. That's in the open too and doesn't stop at state lines. There's very little (good) about New Yanker "politics" the proof is overwhelming.

Why would they want to spend money that they have absolutely no understanding of, and care less about, when they can take that money and put it towards a fellow politician's "non-profit," enriching both of them, or to buy votes for their next election?

It's all basic NYS Politics 101.
