I have a BC296D that I have a bank that I have only a P-25 CAI TRS programmed into by control channel only mode. When I am mobile and I travel to areas that the scanner loses the active control channel it starts scanning looking for a current control channel. Now for the longest time I was not really paying attention, just noticed the system had gone quiet and I would look down and the display would be stopped/holding on the last control frequency I had programmed. I started paying attention and I noticed it beeps and puts a message in the display when it does this, but it happens so fast and I am not driving looking at the display so I cant ever read it. It seems like to me after it loses the control channel it goes scanning for a new one, but if it does not find one in a set amount of time it quits/gives up scanning and holds on the last programmed frequency. If you press resume it will go back to scanning, and if present will lock onto to current control channel and start tracking again fine. As a test I went back in and programmed all of the voice channels in and turned off control channel ony mode and it works great. Has anyone else discovered this about the BC296D or is it just mine?
