if you ever vist brunswick county and have a scanner, you'll know that our rescue channel has been fubar'd for about the past 18 months. well i finally found the source of the problem and thought i'd let you know

Brunswick Rescue 155.745

well the coast gaurd to help lost ships find their way has put a transponder beacon off of little river sc. So now all you hear on the rescue channel it this wierd buzzzing and clicking.

CG said they were going to fix it as soon as it was dicovered well 18 months later it is still bad, i'll try to capture some of it for you some day

If it is interfering with public safety have the sytem licensee call the FCC. They will handle it right away. 18 months.... you got to be kidding me.

Does anybody know how to fire a LAWS rocket? That would solve your problem rather rapidly. :)

I think I heard some repeater, probably was Brunswick's, the other day as I passed through the area. It was constantly getting keyed up by a weak signal, but I think it was a different freq. I didn't record it, I just remember a repeater getting hammered somewhere in NC. (It's somewhat of a blur at this point.)
