• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

and I need help setting it up. I have read the owners manual but cannot make sense of it. The person at Radio Shack did not know how to set it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

I need help understanding how to store a bank

I have the frequencies, and have learned a little on my on, but it is still confusing. I know they have to be programmed a certain way.
The downloading sounds promising, but I use a Mac. Is this a problem?
Thanks for replying NeFire242.
Have a great day,
Kwip

Yes programing by the manual can be frustrating. Win97 is the best way. I think it is only for the pc though. There is also scancat lite. The win97 info is at starrsoft.com

I do remember trying to use the manual. Wear the fingers out flipping back and forth through the pages.

Actually learning how to use the radio is the best way to go. Win97 is just the easiest way to learn how to not use the radio by hand ;)
