does any one know where i can find a real air raid siren for little to nothing in cost??? i tried ebay thanks

See now, that's the trick isn't it? Little or nothing cost. I don't think you are going to be succesful. Old Air Raid sirens are pretty rare and the ones in working condition command a premium. Are you talking about the kind that are set up on a tripod and have the hand crank? There are many different types. Please be more specific.

Well.... I will tell you that stealing a siren off a pole is a very bad idea. heh. I test the sirens for the City of Edmond on the first Saturday of each month. (147.135mhz if you want to listen.) We've had a lot of problems with one of the sirens on Coltrane. (I don’t have my list in front of me, or I could tell you the cross street) Last month the city finally just took it down. I'm not sure what they did with it, but I’ll see if I can find out. And setting one of those things off for fun.... in city limits.... will get you arrested and thrown in jail. heh. Just so you know. :) Have fun!

I see you're in Ryan, OK. That's a ways from Canadian County if I remember correctly, but there are a couple of places here you might want to try. First is Calumet Industries which is about a 1/2 mile East of I-40 exit 115 on route 66. Their number is (405) 893-2636. You'd be best off talking to Roger Fees there, he has all sorts of old military and industrial junk laying around inside and out. Also Stroh's Surplus, which is on the south side of Okarche. Their number is (405) 263-4888. Both would be worth calling to see if they have something laying around.

Good Luck
