When you come up with the $400.00 that you must have to buy the scanner along with a good download program via computer it will be money well spent.I perfer GRE-500 handheld.

Hey guys I need a Digital scanner that will cover 800 mhz. only problem is that i dont wanna pay $400 for one got any Ideas

Wouldn't it be GREAT if they PAID us to take their scanners? I can see it now...."Hey buddy, take this BCD996XT home with ya and I'll pay ya $500!" <<<< My kinda world there...To bad it doesn't work that way..

With time and money saved up a digital
capable scanner could be yours once purchased :)

more digital hitting the midlands soon so everyone better start saving up! lot of agencies starting to grab digital equipment and switching to P25 while purchasing the nextel (rebanded equipment)...

Caesar (as usual) has a good point: Buying an analog only scanner
in either NC or SC is a mistake with both states adopting P25 statewide
public safety radio systems. Save up and buy a digital capable model
that will serve you well for several years :)
