I need advise on the Super Sangean 909 Shortwave Receiver

I have decided to purchase a Sangean ATS-909 as my first portable shortwave receiver. I can purchase the receiver from a variety of web sites for about $239.00. However, radiolabs.com sells a modified version (Super Sangean 909) of this receiver for $329.00. My question is this....are the modifications worth the extra $90.00. I'm pretty much shortwave illiterate; therefore, any opinions will be much appreciated.

Take a look at the earlier message regarding receiver reviews and mailing lists in this forum; there are 2 sites - one on Eham, the other on RadioIntel - that has several helpful links to reviews and comments on the baseline (non souped up) ATS909.
