I think your out of luck. I am sure the RCMP are going to a digital system in SASK. It has been 6 months or more since I have had any activity on the conventional channels. I dont have a clue what kind of system they have so I am no help there. If they are not digital in your area yet it will only be a short time till they are.

Well

I guess your best bet might be going with a PRO-96 from Radio Shack in the USA. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Mine is currently waiting to be exchanged because it died but I think its your best value. Not many people want to spend $500+ on a scanner. Without knowing what type of digital system the RCMP are using I would not run out and spend the money until you know if the system can be monitored. Not all digital systems can be monitored and many of them are encrypted. I would suggest you ask some friends in your area if they know anyone with a scanner find some info from them and go from there. $500.00 is alot to spend if it does not do what you want.

Patti,
The Carlyle RCMP as of a few weeks ago were on 155.700 but may have gone digital since then as the system is set up and they were on it for a short time. You may want to look into a BC 250 or BC 296 or a Pro 96. The GRE PSR 500 is also an option depending on how much money you wish to spend. Scanners Unlimited is a good place to mail order a scanner from and you can price out how much you want to spend. Good Luck and welcome to the addictive hobby of Scanning!!
