Probably not the right place to ask this but here goes. I need someone to point me in the right direction to hook up my SDS200 with Proscan to a local server of somekind without having to go public for just my use outside the house? I watched a youtube video that was no help and can't understand the Proscan directions either. I am not a computer tech but would love to find something that can help me in laymans terms. I am some what knowledgeble with radio equipment and computers but I am just not getting it. I guess you can go through Broadcastify but I don't want to make it public.

Thanks in advance

Probably the Web Server feature will work best for you. It doesn't use an external or local server. The server is built into the Web Server.
See this document on setting it up. It was written for the BCD536HP but the Web Server part applies to all supported scanners.
The BCD536HP and SDS200 setup is the same in ProScan. The SDS200 menu setup is a little different then the BCD536HP.

{edit} The very first step is getting the SDS200 data(display) and audio to communicate with ProScan. Advise if you are at this point.

Ok I have a question already do I need a dongle if I have a desk top computer that is connected to the router with WiFi? Also if I do need one what size something that allows 2.4 and 5 Gb and also 300 to 1200 Mbps?

You would connect your SDS200 directly to your router using the RJ45 port on the front of the scanner. No dongle needed unless you want to use a WiFi bridge from the scanner to the router’s WAP.
