I need some ideas on how to cover this adapter

I have a motorola 800 megahertz antenna hooked up to the scanner and I was wondering what you guys think I should use to cover the adapter that it has to have to work, by the way this antenna kicks a** !!

This doesn't answer your question at all and I don't mean to get off-topic, but I personally would drop the adapter and go for one of these...

SpectrumForce 700-800 MHz 2db Gain Portable Scanner Antenna with SMA Connector

They work really well, would look better and put less stress on the SMA connector.

Or, just get some black heat shrink tubing and cover it.

Find a suitable size of rubber vacuum line, cut enough to cover adapter and slide it over.

I `second' KevinCs suggestion about getting the SMA `based' antenna. It might not seem to be all that much longer with the adapter but, every little bit of extra length adds to the extra torque applied to the connector on the radio and that could, sometime, contribute to a problem further down the road. Why tempt fate?
