If you are using DOS RSS (which your message implies, since you talk about version 6.something), it WILL NOT RUN under WindowsXP. Period. You need to get a DOS Boot disk and boot straight pure DOS in order to run the RSS.
Or get yourself a copy of the Windows CPS.
Also, what do you mean when you say "required equipment"?
The MTS2000 series requires an equipment->rib cable, pc->rib cable, and a rib. They must be plugged into a standard RS232 serial port.
One of the options in the RSS (sorry, can't remember how to get there off the top of my head) is a communications test. What happens when you try that?
