i only want my suburban town and a few adjoining towns!

I'm on a motorola starnet trunking freq. and whether or not i enter group id's it picks up all of houston it seems.... i only want my suburban town and a few adjoining towns!! right now i have the baytown freq. entered and no group id's... it's picking up everything... please help... .

Enter talkgroups and set your radio to ID SCAN instead of ID SEARCH.

Of course you FAIL to tell us what radio you are using, so we can't be sure. However, that should take care of your problem if you are using a Uniden.

Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, that was the problem.. i feel like an idiot!!! something so simple yet i was totally at a loss of what to do.... in the 4 days that i've had my scanner bct15, I've learned a tremendous amount.... I actually thought all i had to do was plug it in and turn it on..... thanks again.... je.
