Sorry so long replying, bad lightning storm yesterday killed my internet.
I used pass your amature radio tech class book by craig " buck" K4IA. It covers every question, has detailed reasons about why something is figured or works.im glad i got it.sure could simply study answers but i want to know what is behind the answers

Good work, KE0WRU! You are doing things right so far by wanting to know 'how & why' instead of just memorizing answers. 'How & Why' are what Ham Radio is for. Happy Hamming!

I'm late to the party as usual, but absolutely, Welcome to the hobby! (Now you don't have to worry as much about having a scanner in your car either, lol... except in the People's Republic of New York)

looks like that truck from dual in your avator.
Yes im lucky law dont bother much in missouri.but years back i carried a scanner in my big truck.only way i got away with it,it had instant weather a safety device.
Before that i carried that am vhf radio in my truck back before le changed radios
