Hi guys,
Wondering if any of you know the tone frequencies for the Incident Support and Assistance Team (ISAT) which is dispatched to major fires and incidents on Camden County F-1 154.430...I own a Motorola pager and would like to be alerted when ISAT is dispatched to a job...

If any of you have a recording of ISAT tones from F-1, that would work as well...just let me know, I'd very much appreciate the help.

Working on a list of Camden County pager tones which I can place in the database section of this site...coming soon...

Thanks guys.

Mike

Why would you need that? Do you plan on setting the pagers off for no reason?

Only people who want to cause trouble for themselves ask for that type of info.

Those pagers are only meant for the people who actually have to respond to those calls and no one else! Stick to a scanner.

I agree with both of you, but I don't think we should have automatically assumed that he has bad intent. Welcome to the board, Mike.

The new Uniden 396T supports fire tone out. It is a nice feature if you only want to hear calls for specific fire companies. I use it here in town to monitor the company that serves my neighborhood. The fire channel gets "chatty" during the day with fire marshall and other traffic.

No bad intent here guys...I have some involvement with local fire companies and do like to know when a decent job is going on somewhere...even if it's at 4AM. I choose not to listen to the scanner throughout the night due to the fact that our EMS down here is dispatched on F-1 along with fire, and to be awakened at 4AM by tones for a fall victim two towns over does not make my night. However, if there was a fire down the street from me, I'd most certainly like to know about it at whatever time it is.

I often use the pager at night, to awaken me for calls which particularly interest me. Also during the day in some situations, where I cannot monitor a scanner constantly, but would still like to know about fire calls in the area. Since the ISAT is toned out for fires which are generally considered big jobs, I have an interest in them...but not enough to listen to a frequency which contains dispatches for jobs which are 85% EMS throughout the course of the day waiting for them, not to mention that I'll probably end up missing the dispatch anyway, since my attention is generally divided between about 6 things at once. I cannot afford a tone-out capable scanner at this time, so I use a pager which was sold to me by a firefighter who moved out of the area (actually out of the continental US) for much less than the cost of a tone-out scanner. I do not "respond" to fires with FD personnel, but since my family history includes membership in the fire department, I do have an interest and if an interesting job is happening, I just might head in that general direction (I always obey all traffic regulations like any law abiding citizen, I do nothing stupid or illegal). I do not get in the way of the firefighters who are working, but do shoot photographs of local firefighters in action for some relatively small publications. I supply some images to fire companies involved in an incident free of charge, and many of them are very grateful for photographs of their members in action. I hold valid press credentials, and this is one of the primary reasons for which I like to be alerted on local jobs. I am often alpha-paged for jobs which are considered interesting, but the alpha-pager is not always as reliable as I'd like it to be...

I do know a significant number of local firefighters also, and the pager tones which I currently use were supplied by them with the general understanding between us that I would not "respond" with the company, but if I decided to show up, that I obey all rules and regulations for the general public on the fireground, including but not limited to not crossing fire-lines (this would be significantly interfering with operations). Even if it was not verbally stated, the understanding is there, and I respect their wishes to do their job without interferance. I do not at this time have any personal contacts at this time who are ISAT team members, and so I cannot respectfully request this information from them, and so I figured I would check here...

Sorry to go on and on, but I'm just trying to establish some level of credibility here...I didn't mean to come off in a negative way for my initial post, and perhaps some more in-depth explaination was in order...

Take care.

Mike

Contrary to what I, johnnyvico and joseph11 have posted, someone has decided to post them anyway.

Like I said, if you are a legitimate responder, the agency you work/volunteer for would have given you a pager.

No one in their "right mind" needs a pager to run out of the house at 4AM to watch a fire. If you do need to watch the fire, you probably started it. Seek professional help.

Joe, thanks for nothing!

Yes, this is true, and I am not at this time a full member of any fire company. But the point is, that I do not "respond"...I do not break any laws, and what I do is entirely legal. I simply like to know when something interesting is happening in the immediate area, without having to listen to EMS all the time. If county dispatched EMS on E-1 and fire on F-1, I'd simply monitor F-1 all night...but since they are dispatched together on F-1, I tire quickly of being awakened by tones for squads...maybe some of you keep the scanner on all night and can sleep through tones (I know someone who can do this), but I don't have that ability...

As I mentioned in an above post, I do not go out just to watch. I am a news photographer in addition to everything else that I do, and while I do receive alpha pages (via a conventional alpha pager) concerning most major incidents across the South Jersey area, some incidents do slip through the cracks, and if one of these incidents occurs close to my home to which other correspondents are not dispatched, all the more reason why I feel the need to go out. I would never even consider doing such a thing as intentionally starting a fire, and being semi-involved with several local fire companies (as I mentioned above also), I am appalled by this remark. I have a long standing relationship with a number of firefighters, and the pair of tones currently programmed in the pager I carry (with the exception of the ISAT tones) were given to me by two fire chiefs. Had they considered me a threat of some kind, they most assuredly would have not have provided me with the information that they did.

After receiving a private message from a member of this forum, I now understand why most of you thought negatively of my first post, and I can assure you that I would never have the intent of doing anything malicious with the provided tone information, although I suppose there probably are people who would. I had not realized that it was even possible to do something like what was described to me, which I'll leave unsaid although I'm told many of you know of this incident...

And so, the other tone data which I have gathered from various sources (including FD officials), I will not post to this site in any way, shape or form...despite being encouraged to do so in this thread on this same site:

http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17245&page=1&pp=20

If I have managed to anger anyone here, I am sorry for that...

What is an I.S.A.T. team?

Whew! now that thats all over with. Could someone explain to me exactly what this I.S.A.T. team does and who would be on it. I did hear them get alerted today (10/17) for a dwelling fire. This is a new term to me and I am curious. I have a couple of possible ideas rolling around in my head what this "team" may be but was hoping to have a local help me out.

K2NNJ, johnnyvico and joseph11, you guys can rest assured that I have no intention of taking this info and starting my own I.S.A.T. team.

Sorry guys, just trying to lighten up the thread a little, no offence intended.

On a side note I know several guys, firemen and civilian, who are members of Phila Metro, Del-Val Metro, BNN and Fireground Audio who go out to area jobs and shoot photo/video. ALL of these gentlemen respect firelines and the people working, and in turn they have earned our respect for what they do. Any one of these guys are welcome on any job I'm running and I would never stoop to accusing them of being firebugs. Again not trying to start anything just making a point, Maybe there is more going on here than I am aware of and your responses were somewhat justified.
I remain a curious Pennsylvanian.
Thanks,
Tom

Tones

You people are ridiculous.
If thats the case, we should all stop posting PL tones. Heck.....while were at it, lets stop posting frequencies.
I think I'll start a seperate web site just for posting paging tones. Starting with the ISAT tones.
Thanks for the idea guys.

The accusation made by K2NNJ, that the member who posted the question is "probably starting fires" was totally uncalled for and he owes the member an apology. We should not judge everyone based on the inappropriate behavior of a few people. The member explained, in great detail twice, and with total sincerity, exactly why he wanted the information. His reason is legitimate, he seems like a very sane individual who does not want this information for malicious reasons and there is absolutely no reason to assume any different. And as for him getting professional help, it appears as though K2NNJ could use some professional help in the area of human relations.

The ISAT team is a selection of advanced firefighters from various stations and agencies throughout Camden County, which is dispatched to jobs in which additional key leadership roles may need to be filled, in order to insure safety for those firefighters operating on the fireground. ISAT was created as a result of the July 4, 2002 fire in Gloucester City, which claimed the lives of six people (three civilians and three firefighters). In the investigation which followed that incident, it was determined that certain leadership positions were not filled by the personnel on hand. Therefore, this special team was created by the Fire Chief's and Fire Officer's Association, in the hopes that a tragedy like this would never happen again.

Also, to restate, ISAT stands for Incident Support and Assistance Team.

The new Uniden scanners have a Fire Tone Out feature so that's why I posted the tones in this forum. In fact I will be adding tones to my Philly Guide.
