Copying some fireground comms on I-TAC 3 @ 3:07P. Scratchy but readable on my 396T with a 2db gain duckie. AKA 8TAC93, 852.5125 tone 156.7.
Units mentioned:

E31
E7
S27
Chief 27
T3
T23
Chief 3A

Ideas?

Update Command terminated. Shut down gas source in kitchen.

Guessing the E is engine, T for truck, etc. But I don't recognize the units or unit numbers and don't under why they would be using the interoperability frequency.

To clarify, the units actually said "engine" and "squad" and "truck" and "chief." The abbreviations were mine.

I *think" it may have been an incident in the Laurel area. AACo was using their Tac3 and was talking about a gas problem, and the comms on I-TAC 3 at one point talked about gas. Could just be a coincidence, or maybe an off frequency VRS? Perhaps the I-TAC repeater was left on by accident, or maybe the 396T was just in a weird mood.... Anyway, two different receivers on my part, and the transmissions were not concurrently heard on both radios.

I figured you were aware of the abbreviations, but are all those AACO unit numbers? Station 3? 23, 27 sound like they could be AA.
By Tac3 do you mean echo 144?

 wat?

I-TAC (8TAC93?) vs. Anne Arundel TAC-3 (TGID 144)...?

I'm assuming you heard this activity on the 800 Interop TAC93 channel based on the original info...

It's unlikely that Chief 27 was on a call with E31 (or E3-1)... and Anne Arundel doesn't have a S27 (Squad 27?) or Chief designations ending in "A".

I can't say for sure where this was but I'll look back and see if I caught anything.

On a regular basis, I do hear activity from southern PG, Charles, and St. Mary's on the 8TAC channels. Additionally, in the last week or so, I heard Carroll units and MSP aviation on an 8TAC channel for a landing site.

The mystery foreground activity was on I-TAC 3 / 8TAC93. An almost simultaneous incident on AACo 1E AKA "Tac 3" (according to RR database) AKA "Echo." Both concerned leaking gas. Probably a coincidence, both with the gas, and the naming convention "Tac 3."

Found an 8TAC93 recording around 1516 that included "Command to Calvert" and reporting they found a pilot light was found out causing the gas odor. My guess would be a joint response with Calvert and probably Charles and/or St. Mary's County.

That's probably it - about the right time. They weren't using COG unit numbering, so I don't think any PG / DC area units were involved.

Hmm, is there a interoperability system/center similar to WAGIN, CMARC, or MESIN operating in southern Maryland?

According to this there is a

SMIEC (Southern Maryland Interoperable Executive Committee) consists of Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties;

Governance

Looking around a bit it appears that mostly these are plans for how to use the various nationwide tac channels (which is what we're seeing).
